Children & Youth

Everyone is important at City Gate Church from the youngest to the oldest and therefore we actively seek to include our young people in all aspects of church life. From young people visiting church for the first time to those who have grown up in the church we hope to introduce them to a God who cares enormously about them and their life!

Small groups on a Sunday, friendships, social activities and midweek cell groups all play a part in encouraging our young people to be strong and secure. We hope that they will begin to experience, know and develop daily relationships with Father God for themselves. We aim to encourage and release our young people to pursue God passionately, stepping into the callings that He has spoken into their hearts and being full of His Holy Spirit.

Here are some activities that we have running at the moment:

Preschool children
Crèche facility during our Sunday meetings.

Primary School children
Group that meets during the Sunday meeting.

Secondary School young people
Group that meets during the Sunday meeting.
Two midweek cells which also organise their own social activities.
Occasional events with other churches in Salisbury or further a field such as Soul Survivor conferences, overseas trips and joint youth worship events in Salisbury.

We want City Gate Church to be a safe and encouraging environment therefore we have a Child Protection Policy and all our children/youth workers are CRB checked.

City Gate Church Web Site Child Protection Statement

City Gate regards child protection and good working practice as a priority. In the interests of the safety and well being of all children and young people, it has developed and operates a formal child protection policy, which is registered with the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service.

The church is committed to ensuring that everyone working with children or young people:

               ● has undergone a Criminal Records Bureau check at enhanced level,

               ● is adequately trained and supervised,

               ● understands and follows the church child protection policy.

The child protection policy may be viewed and/or a copy obtained from the church office at:

 PO Box 1075, Salsibury, SP1 3XQ

As part of this church's commitment to children and young people it has appointed Sue Holzer and Graham Hooper  as Child Protection Co-ordinator and Suzanne Vickery as Deputy Child Protection Co-ordinator. All the children and young people involved in activities within the church know who they are and how they can be contacted.

Should the church have any child protection concerns it will seek the advice of the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service and if appropriate contact the statutory authorities.
